Ethics, Accountability and Complaints

I am a Registered Member of the BACP and abide by their ethical framework.

Within this is the importance of providing you with a safe, effective and confidential service, where you can explore your emotions, experiences and values, in a non-judgemental environment. 

Regular supervision is a requirement of the BACP to support best practice by all counsellors. 

 I am a member of ACTO: The Association for Therapists and Counselling Working Online Therapeutically. 

I have achieved the OCST 2 Online Counselling Skills Diploma, so you can be assured I am working to high standards, when working with you Online.

I work to the BACP's specific guidance for Online Counselling; in addition to the general counselling ethical framework. I also work to ACTO's code of ethics as a registered member. This is important as working Online, although uses many of the transferable skills practiced in face to face work, there are some different/additional knowledge and skills needed to work at a distance.

I am registered with the Information Commissioners Office in line with Data Protection requirements. 

I have indemnity insurance with Howden Insurance services. I have a valid DBS certificate and this is registered with the update service and is checked weekly by them.
